Aenetus eximia
This beautiful pale blue-green moth had a wing span of about 70 mm although this one looked smaller than the female seen here about 3 years ago

Faint creamy white patterns on the pale green gave the forewings a translucent look. Bordering the submarginal areas was a broken pale yellow line. The colour appeared deeper along the costa.
The largge dark eyes were close-set. Antennae were short.
Spotted under bright lights near a national park - Dandenong Ranges National Park on a warm evening.
This species is seen from the South of Queensland all the way South to Tasmania.
An exciting spotting for me !
The caterpillars live in burrows they make on trunks and roots of food plants. the entrance is usually close to the ground. They feed on a variety of plants.
