A medium sized black tarantula and her nest. The footpads on the back 3 legs appear light yellow.
This tarantula was seen @ 20:40on the outside of a window of a cement block building in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador.
While tarantulas are plenteous here, it isn't often we see a nest that is so easily accessible. With little prodding they can be hand fed. That's always fun to have a "pet" tarantula in the wild. She went up into her nest shortly after this picture was taken.
