Small jewel beetle

Melobasis purpurascens

Description:

Sorry but the macro let me down on this!! A beautifully coloured tiny Buprestid beetle which was exploring the stems of a broad leafed acacia. It was very quick and flew off readily. About 12mm long.

Habitat:

In a local nature reserve. Kings.

Notes:

Still to update these pics. A must have Buprestid.
