Sorry but the macro let me down on this!! A beautifully coloured tiny Buprestid beetle which was exploring the stems of a broad leafed acacia. It was very quick and flew off readily. About 12mm long.
In a local nature reserve. Kings.
Still to update these pics. A must have Buprestid.
I'm determined to find it again. Thanks for the ID. Bernhard Jacobi is a great reference.
