Tersa Sphinx Moth

Xylophanes tersa

Description:

A steamlined nectar feeding hawk moth.

Habitat:

not reported

Notes:

This moth was found on my front porch when clearing some old cob webs from the corners. I thought it was dead at first, but there was slight movement in the legs. I carefully lifted it off the web and placed it on some sheltered plants. It stayed on the plants for the day, but had flown off by sunset.
