Protambulyx strigilis
Two beautiful Streaked Sphinxes gossiping on a ledge. The underwings are orange. See also http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/154.... Family Sphingidae.
Came to the parking lights of a shopping mall, it was only 8º C., San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
The larva is quite striking, green with small yellow spots and a long horn: http://www.biodiversidadvirtual.org/inse....

Thank you Leanne :)
Lovely spotting Lauren.
Amazing Mark! It does look like Sycamore seeds….now I am curious where these guys hide during the day. I've only ever found them at lights.
I was thinking pairs of sycamore seeds... http://www.countrysideinfo.co.uk/moths/o...
