Wasp moth

Arctiinae

Description:

It is a wasp mimic moth, black with yellow bands across the abdomen, and black wings with transparent windows.

Habitat:

Spotted during a raining morning walk at Kebun Raya Cibodas, a 80ha area above 1.400 metres high, mix of botanical park with big trees & palms and surrounded by rainforest at the foot of Gene volcano, Java - Indonesia, it can be also found from the Indo Australian Tropics to northern Australia

Notes:

Amata huebneri is a species of moth in the genus Amata of the family Erebidae, subfamily Arctiinae.
