Giant King Cricket (male)

Anostostoma australasiae

Description:

Large dark red brown cricket, small black bead eyes, long antennae, long and mis-shaped jaws, about 8 centimetres in length possibly longer I did not have a ruler with me. I have labelled as this animal, but would like some ideas from others to confirm as 'experts' I have shown have been a bit baffled.

Habitat:

Found in garden shed that has surrounding environment of soft sandy soil and bushland, northern NSW Australia.
