Lichmera indistincta
Small brown/grey honeyeater with smudge og olive gold on wings, tail and a flick of pale lemon colour behind each eye, darker head and beak, nectar and occasional insect eater. Has one of the most melodious calls and quite loud for a small bird. They spend a lot of time chasing each other and other birds away from good food sources.
Found throughout Australia from the east, around the top and down into the west coast regions, missing the centre and the southern regions. Wherever there are flowers in bloom Brown Honeyeaters will be around somewhere in all environments. This one on Banksia robur 'Hinchinbrook' in garden setting.
