Ematurga atomaria

Description:

Moth week has started! This day-flying moth has feathery antennas and wings with a white-brown speckled appearance. The species can be found in Europe and the Near East. The wingspan is 24–34 millimetres (0.9–1.3 in). The moths fly in one generation from May to June. Caterpillars feed on heath and clovers.

Habitat:

A clearing in mixed coniferous forest with forget-me-nots, alt. 1900 m ASL.

Thanks for the hard work bayucca! Sorry I managed only one shot on this one. I concentrated on the latticed heath next to it and only saw this one at the last second. I will update shortly.

Geometridae, Ematurga atomaria, male. That was quite a tricky one. I looked to 100 of them and I got 100 similar and yet different ones, and yours was #101...
