Fragile Conch

Terestrombus fragilis

Description:

T. fragilis is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk, in the Strombidae family (the true conchs).

Habitat:

This species is distributed in the western and central part of the Pacific Ocean and along the Philippines.

Notes:

Spotted this conch on a night dive at Dayang Beach, Talikud Island. When I turned it over to get a photo of its aperture, it righted itself up by pushing with its muscular foot, and then jumped away!
