I can't find anything either. Perhaps it would be a good idea to submit it to BAMONA so an expert can input. It is definitely a dart moth of some sort.
Took a look at the Asteroid; Cucullia asteroides and the other Cucullia species. While they do have dark stripes, I did not find the regular paired dot pattern (2 then 1) that your spotting shows on its back. There is also a faint V flare to the center stripe at each segment. Do you have a side photo to see the spherical stripe and proleg pattern? It could help narrow a search if this is a late instar.
It reminds me so much of my Asteroid Caterpillar of the Goldenrod Hooded Owlet Moth. I tried to find an exact match, but unable to unless this is a color variation. Good luck!

I agree. It can only help.

I have been cruising the Spodoptera instars and Lithophane instars - they seem close too. Will keep my eyes out for a match.
Sorry, gator, all my other pics show the same view as this. Been looking at the Cucullia species but no match yet.

Very cool spot! I can't find it in Wagner's. Asteroid moth caterpillars have black stripes, too.
I found PN because I was researching Asteroid caterpillars and all their variety of colors. :)
I appreciate you searching Carol. It does look like the Asteroid caterpillar.
