Gelechioid moth

Super family Gelechioidea

Description:

Barely 5mm, maybe 4mm. The wings appear black and bell-shaped. Short wings with thick fringes the same colour. Pale antenna that project forward diagonally on the horizontal plane. Legs are short, pale and often hidden beneath the wings. Eyes are black. The identifying factor is the upturned sickle shaped palyps. Head is dark although less so than the wings

Habitat:

Very active little moth found on a driveway light bollard at night
