Moth

Description:

This obstinate moth is sitting with its head almost inserted into the space between two slender bamboo poles that are part of the wall. This moth is rust coloured. It looks like a dried leaf. The free ends of the hind wings are wavy. The far end of the hind wings are tent-like. The back bears two inverted V shaped indented lines and a series of pin-head sized dots are present along the edges of the hind wings all across the body.

Habitat:

Village Kolakham; a remote, forested area at an altitude of 1868m in the Kalimpong Hills of Darjeeling District, on the fringes of Neora Valley National Park. There were manymoth species united by their love of light...in this case our porch light.

Notes:

I could not get this moth to budge; and gave up after some blurry shots...this one is also not very good. Low light and cropping did not help; sorry..
