Lilac breasted roller

Coracias caudatus

Description:

Common roller of Sub-saharan africa. It is a predator, perching where it can look for potential prey and then fly down to snag it. another spotting same species later in the day http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/160...

Habitat:

Kruger

Notes:

#6 is the same bird after he flew into different lighting. I know on our trip the lilac breasted converted a few bird haters into appreciators at least

It was a damp morning. I think that's the reason. Not actively raining, but enough to make him fluff up. Still these guys always look a little fluffy!

I like your series because the bird seems a little ruffled!
