Equetus punctatus
A very unique fish which inhabits coral reefs in the Atlantic and Caribbean ocean. They are generally nocturnal, but can occasionally be spotted during the day in crevices and under dark overhangs in the coral. The first pictured (a macro photo) is a juvenile, which is small...about 2 1/2 inches from tip of upper fin to lower tail. The adult is shown in the 2nd photo.
Atlantic/Caribbean coral reefs. Thes were spotted in Honduras, off the island of Utila.
