American Pipit

Description:

This American pipit is a grayish/brown bird with streaking below on belly. Has pink legs, white eye brow, white wing bars and a long tail. This is a new bird spotting for me and I'm thrilled.

Habitat:

This bird was spotted in the marshes of the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge was hit by a major hurricane 7 years ago and there was much damage. It will take years to look again like it once did. However, there are several small birds enjoying this wonderful refuge and this American Pipit was doing just that..

Thank you Liam for helping to identify this bird. I looked through three of my birding books and could not identify it. Now I know what it is and am thrilled because it is a new spotting for me. Thanks so much Liam. Appreciate it.
