Pyralid Moth

Enotricha pyrosalis

Description:

There are a few spottings of this genus on PN but I can't but add this one. The moth are fascinating sitting almost vertically on long legs with their body held at an angle. The wings are held in a triangle making them look like a Delta Wing aircraft.
The wings here were two toned with the marginal area being a beautiful deep red. Wing span - 20 mm.

Habitat:

Spotted under bright night lights - suburban garden. These moths are every where this time of the year.

Notes:

Family: Pyralidae Subfamily: Endotrichinae
