Swallow-tailed Moths

Ourapteryx sp.

Description:

Silky sheen to the white colour. Has pale gold stripes on the wings.opened. Tails on hind wings.

Habitat:

Drawn towards the porch light of a cottage at Village Kolakham; a remote, forested area situated at an altitude of 1868m in the Kalimpong Hills of Darjeeling District, on the fringes of Neora Valley National Park.

Notes:

That's not mating behaviour, is it? The door was covered with moths of all kinds but even so, there was plenty of space...this one reminds me of a crowded bus with people packed in like sardines or maybe I should say.. swallow-tailed moths.
