Haliaetus vocifer
Large and majestic bird at all stages of its development. First two photos are of juvenile bird - darker brown upperparts, with lighter brown underparts, and a large white stripe on wings. Adult is unmistakable: all black upperparts, pure white chest and head with yellow bill, and chestnut belly and underwings.
Awassa town park - or a forested swampy area bordering the lake; quite famous for birds, and some other animals.
It was here that I first saw this species sometime back in 2001. And I was lucky enough to come back for work in the area in 2013, and had a time enough for a quick bird-watching tour. Sure enough, with a little luck again, now the whole family was there... And observing parents bringing fish back to these youngsters was a rare privilege for me - unfortunately, couldn't catch the fish on a photo. Anyway, really majestic birds, there is nothing else to say.
