Purple Wave

Idaea inversata

Description:

This striking geometrid was a purplish pink, with a faint dark wave pattern. Wing span was about 20 mm. The costal edge of the fore-wings were a creamish-white and really stood-out.

Habitat:

Spotted under bright lights near a sports field.

Notes:

This moth has one synonym: Acidalia albicostata Family: Geometridae Subfamily: Sterrhinae
