Beautiful but tattered butterfly. 4 dark spots on each hindwing, various sized white spots on forewing.

Habitat:

landing on the garden mulch in a street near the 3 Sisters Lookout.

Yes, I noticed the blue inside the black dots once I read the wiki reference you posted. I really like this new reference you have added!

Even though this spotting is worn, the blue centers in the 3 ocelli on the hind wings and the black apex is still visible. These are the markers to distinguish it from a Painted Lady, Vanessa cardui. Here is an additional reference
