Ring-necked Parakeet

Psittacula krameri

Description:

Typical parakeet, all green bird of some 40 cm in length, with orange beak. Adult males have a black ring around their necks and black bib; female and juveniles are all green. Also known as Rose-ringed parakeet.

Habitat:

Seen in urban setting in Marseille, south of France. Seen in two spots the same day, in a local park feeding on cypresses, and resting in a trees in another, coastal park. Mediterranean climate and vegetation.
