Marsh Wren

Cistothorus palustris

Description:

They have brown backside with a lighter brown belly and flanks and a light colored throat and breast. The back can have black with white stripes. They have a dark cap with a white line over the eyes and a short thin bill. White eyeline and a tail that stands up.

Habitat:

Found in marshes, especially with dense reeds and cattails. They love to hide in them.

Notes:

I was on a marsh runway looking for Rails and I kept hearing birds talking to each other from the reeds. I just couldn't see them. Then one popped up on the deck. Didn't expect it so I didn't get a camera shot off. But I did see it in the reeds and wasn't sure the camera got it or not til later.
