Ground skink

Scincella lateralis

Description:

Tiny fellow I almost swept out the door as I cleaned the Ranger Station. He measured only 1" long, minus his tail . Good thing he wiggled. Apparently they don't get much bigger. (His tail will grow back.)

Habitat:

Ranger Station, Silver Springs State Park.
