Description:

Mustard yellow, large moth, 80-174 mm total wingspan. Males are darker, as seen above, with 4 dark eye spots on outer and inner wings.

Habitat:

Attracted to my moth sheet on my back porch.

Notes:

Males are darker, as seen above, with 4 dark eye spots on outer and inner wings. There is a subspecies, E.imperialis pini for Northern species which are smaller and less marked and hosts on pines.
