White-winged Fairy-wren (female)

Malurus leucopterus leuconotus

Description:

The female is sandy-brown with light-blue tail feathers. I think that applies to the females of all three subspecies.

Habitat:

Flitting around behind the sand dunes at the Tulki Beach Campsite, Cape Range National Park.

Notes:

On the occasions that I saw these little birds, they were usually in the same vicinity as the Variegated Fairy-wrens. Male at this spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/183...
