Dasineura dielsi
Convoluted clustered clumps growing on the stems of a common acacia looking like dried flowers or fruits. Each about 20mm diameter. Very roughly spherical and from a single 'stem'. They actually look nothing at all like the flowers or the fruits of this plant so there is no obvious mimicry involved here. A single 'gall' snapped off and crumbled very easily into the many separate locules it contained. Each piece seemed to contain a couple of 'chambers' but all seemed empty.
On a common acacia species (Acacia melanoxylon) in a local sports reserve.
