Teia anartoides
This caterpillar was about 30 mm long with dense long creamy white setae. There were four tufts of upright setae with sooty tips, along the dorsal aspect of the body. The head and thorax region seemed to have orange and black stripes. A pair of red dorsal glands were seen on the penultimate segments of the abdomen.
Spotted on a bracelet honey myrtle plant in a flora and fauna reserve - Langwarrin Flora & Fauna Reserve.
This looks like a late instar of the caterpillar.
Family: Lymantriidae
