Nocturnal Ants

Description:

These little ants were running up and down this tree trunk at 1 in the morning with frantic energy….and it was quite cold. Most ants this size are diurnal, but not these.

Habitat:

Painted tree trunks along the waterfront of Lake Catemaco, Veracruz, Mexico.
