Description:

The species has one of the longest life cycles of all Eurasian butterflies, ranging from early spring to late autumn. I found it fascinating to see how "furry" they are :)

Mature individuals hibernates, and during the first warm springdays they awakens from their hibernation, and start the reproduction. The host plant is nettles. (Swedish hame for the butterfly is Nässelfjäril, Nettle butterfly) According to Wikipedia, there are at least 9 different Subspecies to the Aglais urticae
