Description:

Family: Erebidae. Subfamily: Arctiinae. Tribe: Arctiini. (Tiger moths) Total length: 37 mm (range is 24-37 mm) Wingspan: 56 mm. Black FW has fine cream-colored border and stripes along veins. W-shaped ST lines touch slightly kinked PM line. AM line meets costa at a right angle. Red HW is boldy marked with black spots in median and terminal areas. Hosts: Low plants including clover, dandelion and lettuce.

Habitat:

Woodlands, fields, and gardens. Comes to light. Found in the driveway near a light source.
