Nemoria sp.
Emerald Moth with a brown fringe and tiny white spots along the lower margins of all 4 wings. The abdomen has 3 large white spots down the dorsal part of the abdomen. The third picture is of a different individual (no piece missing in the wing). They arrived together and may be of the opposite sex. The wing fringe of the second individual is a more pale brown. The 4th and 5th pictures are of an individual photographed in the same place on 17 March 2014. Family Geometridae.
Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
Thank you bayucca. Yes, tricky. I sure would love to find the larva of this, it looks amazing!
Geometridae, Geometrinae, Nemoria sp.. Once again a tricky one. I am not sure if this one is one of the species found in Southern US:

Lixaria??: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/906...
There are no records for Mexico mentioned.
There are quite a few with some kind of a red or reddish border.
I would go with Nemoria sp.
