Juvenile, looks like a sparrow at first glance but the spotted throat and flanks and white patches between the eyes give it away.
Mountain airfield, 4,000', covered in bushes.

Maybe you have and passed them off as sparrows without taking a second look!
Nice! I had never seen a juvenile. The plumage is quite different from the adult.
