Superb Fairy-wren -male

Malurus cyaneus

Description:

A small bird with bright blue head, cheeks and upper back, sectioned with black. The rest of the back is a tawny colour with white abdomen. Tail is often narrow, blue and upright.

Habitat:

Spotted on open grassland, flitting about often resting on peppercorn trees (Schinus molle) These birds are found south of Tropic of Capricon, along the eastern states and up to the eastern border of South Australia.

Although he seemed a little bolder than the females, he seemed to keep himself just that much further away - Yes, very attractive little bird and I was lucky to get a photo..
