salticid spider

Description:

<0.5cm

Habitat:

On low vegetation under hemlock trees. Is this a tick mimicking spider? Compared to other salticids i have seen there are very few longer hairs making it look almost shiny instead of "wolfy". When I first saw it, it looked just like a tick to me at a distance. Or is it a very pregnant female? It was waving its arms also in the typical salticid fashion.

I found one of these last month, now I know what mine is as well (to be posted soon)! Very likely a gravid female. :-)
