Antillean crested hummingbird

Orthorhyncus cristatus

Description:

Tiny green shiny hummingbird, about 8cm. It has a punky crest on its head. :-)

Habitat:

In the garden of our holiday cottage, Upper Hells Gate, Saba, Dutch Antilles

Notes:

I was looking at another bird and saw this little one through the branches of a tree. Since then I bought a hummingbird feeder and waiting for some better shots. It flies "standing up" and looks like an "air-seahorse" the way it moves. GORGEOUS!
