Crab Spider

Runcinia acuminata

Habitat:

Found among grass stems on a remnant coastal dry forest ridge

Notes:

The Leucauge granulata or Silver Orb Weaver is the smaller spider and normally hangs beneath a complex web among the grasses or twigs. It appears the wind blew her web against a grass stem and destroyed it. As she clung there she was captured by the Crab Spider which was hunting its normal habitat.
