European Starling

Sturnus vulgaris

Description:

I'm observing this hole, probably made by a woodpecker, every spring and see these starlings come back to it regularly... Here, observed just in the beginning of nesting season or "housewarming"...

Habitat:

European starling is a very common sight in wooded areas; resident in rural and urban areas of Jura Mountain Range slopes. Here seen in a town park, on the edge of a wooded zone, last row of tree before the meadow. The park is in semi-urban setting: very calm small town, just in between slopes of Jura and coasts of lake Leman (Geneva).
