Melaniti phedima
Large, brownish grey butterfly with distinct yellow spots towards the edges of their wings.
Murty River jungle, low plain area. Temperature: warm to cool.
It was spotted one evening inside the building of a resort at Murty River, Chalsa, Cooch Behar.
Looks like being Melanitis phedima? Quite a variable genus and species. Please, verify! I IDed one some time ago, which looked very similar, but I could not remember if that one also was Phedima and who took the picture.
