Olive-sided Flycatcher

Contopus cooperi

Description:

This beauty gave me several minutes of shooting time. I was hoping it would take flight and catch a bug, then return to the perch...but I guess it just wasn't hungry. Flycatchers love bare snags so that they can easily spot and catch insects that fly by them.

Habitat:

I found this bird in a city park where both conifers and deciduous trees are abundant. It was raining lightly when I took this photo from my vehicle.
