Dark-eyed Junco (Oregon)

Junco hyemalis

Description:

I used a touch of fill flash to augment the low light of this shady area where the bird was perched. These birds are quite bold as one landed on the hood of my truck 4 or 5 times while I was waiting for a decent perched shot.

Habitat:

Mt. Tabor is a city park that has forested areas of conifers and also other deciduous trees and brush in spots.

Notes:

This Junco was photographed from my vehicle shooting toward the downward slope side of the road. The area is so green that it is relatively easy to get a nice, pleasing green background. http://dennisdavenportphotography.com/
