Description:

Family: Noctuidae. Subfamily: Cuculliinae (Hooded Owlet Moths) Larva of Goldenrod Hooded Owlet Moth. Yellow with black stripes. Length: 51 mm (2 inches) Feeding on white aster flowers. Night flash.

Habitat:

Meadow that use to be yard 2 years ago on property.

Notes:

Researching asteroid caterpillars brought me to Project Noah two years ago on 11-1-11.
