A very hairy caterpillar with four thick grey upright tufts of setae on the dorsak aspect of abdominal segments 1 to 4, A grey backward pointing tuft at thie rear end and two 2 red markings surrounding dorsal glands on segments 6 & 7.
Spotted on a hakea bush. This bush had several caterpillars at one stage early this year and now has several "hairy" empty cocoons.
At attractive caterpillar that feeds on various ornamentals and in the wild, on several natives. Seen as a pest in pine plantations.
