Affect of Water Quality on Butterfly Host Plants - University of Texas at Brownsville
The mission on this site is to study the affect of rainfall on specific butterfly host plants. The project will begin in September 2012 and continue until April 2013,
Participants in this study are to photograph, catalog, and document weather conditions prior and after butterfly spottings. Photographs and loggings of butterflies and host plants are required. Notes regarding egg, larval, and adult stages of Lepidoptera are required.

This site is for a study group of middle school science teachers participating in a project entitled, “Exploring Water Quality through PBL”.
The purpose of the project is to implement a research-based professional development training model for 18 middle school science teachers from seven school districts partnering with the University of Texas at Brownsville. Through this project teachers will participate in explorative classroom and field activities extended by interactive online activities to increase earth, space, and environmental science content and pedagogical knowledge.
Technology extensions include using data collection devices and data analysis tools integrated with (GIS) software and applicatons. Also, teachers will be able to use their tablet devices to interpret and analyze data collected. The devices can also be used to develop lessons to use with their students as they implement problem based instruction in their classrooms.
The results of this project will be documented on Project Noah and on Google Products.
