The objective of this mission is to photograph and identify as many plants and animals that live in and around the wetlands, as possible. Include information about where the photograph was taken, what the creature is in the photograph and how it was interacting with the environment when you observed it.

The Environmental Discovery Center at Indian Springs Metropark is a place to explore and connect with nature! We are located near many ecosystems all within walking distance of each other, including; the Great Huron Swamp, a forested wetland and the headwaters of the Huron River; a 60-acre prairie restoration site, some shrub wetlands, areas of marshland, and even a fen. Of specific interest in the summer are the pond areas. One large pond is near the Environmental Discovery Center Building, another is right beside it. There is also a pond near the park office, the "Lower Pond" near the created wetland on the nature trails, and Timberland Lake at the end of the Woodland Trail.
