Poison Ivy Spotting

Poison Ivy Spotting

Look for a three leafed plant, often times red and/or green, sometimes dull and sometimes shiny. Both the leaves and stem are covered in an oil. Avoid direct contact. Do not go into the area to view it closely. Note where you found it: lawn, forest, wetland area. Note how it is growing...as a ground cover, bush-like, or a vine. Sign in to join mission

Poison Ivy Spotting: This is one plant you must identify quickly and avoid it. Brushing against this plant can cause a red, itchy rash with swelling, bumps, and blisters. Though you may be allergic, the oil can transfer from your skin and clothing to someone who is allergic, with serious health affects.
