Many people view mussels as just rocks, but they are not. They are a food source for many creatures, even human. What's especially important, though, is that they are filter feeders, purifying water. The healthiness of heir sensitive bodies indicates the quality of the water. Recently, there has been a decline of freshwater mussels. Today, many are on the federally endangered list. The cause is uncertain, but possibilities are acidification or some type of illness. It is up to us to save them from declining any furthur. Keep the Noah Rangers and me posted. Thank you so much!
