Description:

Forsythia suspensa (Chinese: 连翘; pinyin: liánqiào) is a flowering plant native to Asia. It is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine. Pinoresinol is a lignan found in F. suspense species has become increasingly invasive in the Northeastern US, although it has not been listed as an invasive species.

Habitat:

Forsythia suspensa is a large to very large shrub, can be grown as a weeping shrub on banks, and has paler flowers. Many named garden cultivars can also be found. It belongs to spring flowering shrubs, with yellow flowers. And, it is grown and prized for being tough, reliable garden plants. The plant is particularly hardy, surviving harsh winters.
