Description:

Well hidden in the avalanche slopes and boulders of the Rocky Mountains is the American Pika. This far cousin of the rabbit looks like a large grey to brown mouse.

Habitat:

Talus slopes and boulders of the Rocky Mountains, above the tree line. The pika needs vegetation in the vicinity of its den.
