Short-winged Rice Grasshopper

Description:

Acrididae; Oxyinae; Oxyini; Pseudoxya diminuta Walker, 1871. I have posted three spottings of this species on Project Noah in the last six months and I think that demonstrates that the population of this grasshopper is healthy and thriving in this area.

Habitat:

This Short-winged Rice Grasshopper was spotted in our front garden this morning.
